Multilingual `60s blonde bombshell, star of black & white TV`s satirical news show, “That Was The Week That Was”, Nancy Ames. “Carcara” is a Mr. Peterson-endorsed Jazz Dance Classic that would rub shoulders and frug with Andy Williams` “House Of Bamboo”, but I`ll admit that I was unaware of that as I hoovered-up the poor, discarded, and cheap, Jazz and Brazilian LPs that filled the racks and racks of Tokyo`s second hand shops, such as Recofan. Sad vinyl in need of a home, most likely jilted by collectors duped by the promise of a “CD revolution”. When I put the needle on the record, there was however a moment of recognition / revelation. “I have heard this”. It was when Rocky & Diesel gave a respectful nod to a pre-Acid London, as they looked to New York for a dark, strobe-lit new House.
