Public Release is a label out of the US run by Eugene Whang. They've released tracks by Tim Sweeney, Jacques Renault, 40 Thieves, Woolfy, Mark E and more. Sometimes there's a Balearic lean to proceedings and thats the case with this new one by Earth Boys. The main track - 'Trail Mix' is very much on that sort of angle - all chants, slow breaks and big Detroit-esque pads. Its good. Following that you get 'Big Time' a piano led house number, 'Put Me On' a deep melodic techno number and 'Highway 1' which is right up my street in its sort of warm 808-ish drums and Detroit pads. I want to hear it in nature. Anyway, the whole EP is quality and thanks to Eugene for sending.
