I get sent so much great music and often it doesn't get reviewed for whatever reason... Here's a load of releases I didn't get time to go in on recently but have thoroughly enjoyed so am hoping some of them resonate with you...
Mudd – Eighty Three (Conrad Idjut Remixes) (Claremont 56)
This is so nice. Conrad is getting better and better at turning out these super wonky dubs... Hard to pick here as slow and wonky music is right up my street but I'll pip for the Uppity Again Dub which is one of the two more uptempo mixes and is as whooshy as you like... Such a nice sound. Really looking forward to seeing where Conrad gets to with what he's making over there in his sonic woodshed.
Order the record HERE. It's a hot potato going on the amount of orders they've got already. So nice to see.
Suzanne Kraft 'What You Do To Me' (Soft Rock For Hard Times)
Diego aka Suzanne Kraft launches this new imprint with a killer cover of Sugercane's original. On the flip you get a super heavy Secret Circuit Dub (boom) and there's a Universal Cave beatless atmos mix to round things off. Tidy. One for the daydreamers and a label to watch out for.
Xiaolin - 風花雪月: 事後 (Bless You)
Sound Metaphors do so much good music it's honestly kind of hard to keep it up but expect to see a load of their bits in here... Xiaolin is back after her cover of 'Plastic Love' and it's another beauty, this time a cover of Prudence Liew's 'Afterwards' from 1990. We're recommending the Heartbreak Dub and the Tornado Wallace remix on this one. Sweet as...

Chill Pill VI (Public Possession)
Public Possession are back with another instalment of their Chill Pill series. So much great music to dig through though we're going for this ddwy track and the ace 'On & On' by Jamma-Dee which is my current ear worm. It's a tune.
Tokyo Riddim Vol. 2 - 1979 - 1986 (Time Capsule)
Here's a lovely comp of Japanese reggae for you... Every track is a killer. Fun tracks include the one by Juicy Fruit which heavily leans on Grace Jones and Teresa Noda's silky 'Yellow Moon'. Nicely.
Romain FX 'Spacer Woman' (Bless You)
More from the Sound Metaphors crew (we did warn you). This one is a pretty fun but faithful cover of 'Spacer Woman' though sung in Catonese. It's fire. Will make any dancefloor happy (well our sorts of dancefloors) and has been supported by the good people who have been playing it for a bit.

Matt Karmil 'No Gong Back' (Studio Barnhus)
The lead track from this 'SFP' landed in the in box late one evening and well it got played over and over. From a production perspective it's just so nice. As warm as you like and with layers and layers of sound deep in there somewhere. Karmil is a producer of note (in the classical sense) for other artists so it's no suprise that he comes with a sonic palette and the tool box to use it. Even if it's not your thing if you make music it's worth digging into. Or just play 'SFP' over and over like I did. It's a quality album saying that. Fine work.
Kicking Dust: The Goa Way, A Full Circle Compilation
Alexis Le Tan & Joakim haver compiled this very lovely record. Honestly we were meant to sit down (well jump on Zoom) and talk about it but we haven't got round to it so far but this is beautifully packaged and compiled perfectly. It's worth buying for the Syntech track alone and well it's fine work by the chaps. We have a mix to run in the coming weeks and that's a beauty too... This sort of care and love being put into something doesn't go unnoticed so props to the chaps. Great title too.
I could have easily added more here... Sound Metaphors alone have got so many good things forthcoming from Spiral Tribe, their Franco F release pulling from his Interactive Test label, the new Androo and his tribute to Jackie Mittoo and more... And an er Orange Place re-release forthcoming... New bits on the digital shelf to review include the Virtual Dreams, our new LIXTP comp from Palms Trax and more... Anyway, hope there's something here that tickles your fancy. Paul Apiento. x.
