HENRY WU, DEEP IN THE MUDD, EGLO RECORDS

Henry Wu is also known as Kamaal Williams who is half of Yussef Kamaal. I was bought the Yussef Kamaal album for Christmas and it hasn't left the car since. It's a ride through modern jazz that as a scene is having a big resurgence now via layers of young UK talent coming through. There is a new six track EP coming on EGLO Records by Henry Wu towards the end of March titled 'Deep In The Mudd' (great title) so we asked Henry for some of his favourites in the UK Jazz scene and to show us some of their work. Over to the artist known as Henry Wu...

Tony Kofi / Tenor Sax – "One of the first UK jazz musicians i saw play live at the crypt in Camberwell when I was 16. Still remember the gig to this day..."

Don Rendell / Soprano / Tenor – "Representing the old school..."

Kaidi Tatham / Keys / Piano – "To this day one of my favourite producers and keys players. He's a legend..."

Josh McKenzie / Drums – "Was fortunate enough to play with this guy on tour in 2011, and learnt a lot from watching him handle the showbiz..."

Stuart Zender / Bass – "Do I need to say anything about this monster? 16 years old and playing with Jamiroquai....."

Henry Wu's 'Deep In The Mudd' is out on the 26th of March on EGLO Records.
