Mark E`s Project E replant Plez`s electric rainforest, and fill it with mating calls, as monkey shrieks compete with bird song. House more a mood than a feeling. A mood shared recently by San Laurentino`s “First Love E.P.” on Aficionado and by Hove on Light Of Days. The “Live” mix`s arpeggio makes the whole thing more urgent. Acid at its edges, a hammer and anvil for its beat, but borrowing from the Italo of Claudio Simonetti and the soundscapes of Tangerine Dream alike. “Groping In The Dark” is an unfortunately titled romantic encounter remembered, shot through a soft focus Vaselined lens, to the tune of Payola$` “Eyes Of A Stranger” and Pete Bardens` ringing power chords and heavenly synths. “Snapshot Of Love” mixes House tropes like Deep88, and the dubbed-out `90s “Garage” of Mood II Swing shacks up with the ecstatic chimes of the Italian foundations of Apiento`s Dream House and the Sci-Fi effects of The Idjut Boys` Droid workouts.
