Francesco De Bellis` (1) Edizioni Mondo label and L.U.C.A recording project are open homages to the Library Music (2) production houses of the 1970s. Mood music, scores for imagined movies, that combine fuzz guitar and funk breaks, harmonica and acoustic strum, throbbing electronics and Farsifa dances. Soundtracks part Goblin (3), part Axelrod (4). Druggy, wonky Porno (5) shares a bed with abstracted Americana, rides with cowpokes and regulators, while oscillating feedback drone paints dawn mists rising, and slow motion fireworks ignite over ritual percussion, animal cries, the noise of children at play, and woozy, sun dappled “Blue On Blue” (6) song. The wordless vocal harmonies of Bacharach (7), Morricone (8) and Umiliani (9) mix with the downbeat Pop of Shy Layers (10).
