Low Company
The Garden Appreciation Post Pt.2

Words by Lj Horstman

The good people at East London record shop Low Company really have a knack for casting an eye over release schedules - just take a look over their new-ins if you're in need of inspiring music for the new year. Reissues, second hand or new bits, industrial or ambient to grime (via techno) in all colours and temperatures, they manage to weave a kinked thread through it all. Today's frontpage highlights include the recent, essential Chi Factory feat. Hanyovan Oosterom Red Lantern At The Kallikatsou on the ever present Astral Industries and an attractive 12" in an ambient techno hue from The Connection Machine called Dissolve on Strax Records. Carve a slice of the Chi LP and feel the unprotected sax / skippy rhythm trax of Connection Machine below.

All these touchy-feelies dredge up a dim and distant memory of yet another discovery from the dearly missed Intergalactic FM channel The Garden which I posted about a couple of days ago - this time this flotation device Dahlia by Taylor Deupree in Human Mesh Dance form (best name ever?). Wonderful.

You'll find Low Company here.
