Words by Dr Rob

Roberto Musci / Nexus On The Beach (from the beautiful and fascinating compilation of the Italian composer / musician`s work on Music From Memory); The Igniters / Hakka Suru (from “Midnite Spares” - Andras Fox & Instant Peterson raiding the Triple R Radio archives for Antipodean New Wave - I really should have covered this - sorry guys, sometimes things get a bit on top - anybody interested in learning more should check out their Boiler Room Collections session); Aragon / Polaris (from an LP of ethereal Japanese New Wave - that in places reminds me of Grace Jones doing Edith Piaf at ZTT - reissued as part of Chee Shimizu`s “Japanism” project - I think this is a “domestic only” release, but copies can be purchased from Chee at Organic Music); Half Silk / Tsukimi (Ryan Horsebeach`s contribution to a V.A. collaboration between Aficionado and Good Measure (the sweatshirt people)); Gerardo Batiz / La Cocola (sublime Mexican Jazz from a retrospective put together by that man Chee again); Eat Lights Become Lights / Into Forever (From David Holmes` Late Night Tales, which is packed with exclusives and new originals - IMHO not enough of David`s work makes it onto vinyl); Visible Cloaks / Valve (that Dip In The Pool collaboration on RVNG Intl. - again, vinyl please Matt); Odd NosDam / Sisters (Stonesthrow; Boards Of Canada`s remix is a kind of early `90s electronica tribute); Ramuntcho Matta / Ibu (more French Avant / Art / Rock from Emotional Rescue); King Clyde / Request Line (fuzzed up, rough Afro that jumped out of my car stereo, again on that Aficionado / GM E.P.); Steve Moline / Only You (Disco Jam) (more Afro, taken from a bonkers genre schm-enre comp on Triassic Tusk); V.O. / Mashisa (blink and you missed it treasure from Invisible City Editions - all my usual dealers sold out in hours); Dennis Bovell / Heaven (outstanding uptempo Caribbean agit, brilliance from a genius, made available and affordable by Optimo - is there any chance we can get back on the promo list?); Day Is Over / 458T (DJ Sotofett rework)(two sides of slamming dance floor Jazz released in conjunction with Prins Thomas` Full Pupp); Earth Trax X Newborn Jr. / Sax Track (on to the House, and the first of three cuts by a new alias of Bartosz Kruczynski - this one`s on Bradley`s Rhythm Section International); Kasra V / Myth (Dream 2 Science Remix)(playing it and playing it and still waiting on the physical for this); Earth Trax / L`avventura (second 12 from Bartosz, this time on Phonica); Telephones / The Party (from the first of two great debut albums about to land on Running Back - Tornado Wallace doing the business in November); AD Bourke & ROTLA / Ostia 1982 (Italian Funk Fusion from the Library leaning Really Swing); Voltage 8 / Bazouka (superlative Gwo `ka on Sofrito Specials); Earth Trax / Los Conquistadores (Bartosz` third 12, for Dopeness Galore); Deep88 / Too Many Notes (from the forthcoming LP on Juice).

P.S. / As before, the tracks included here are rough blends, segues and “radio” edits.

P.P.S. / For those of a more (Modern) Classical Ambient bent, I`ve posted a second “Shopping List” up on Mixcloud which includes new and forthcoming music from Resina (130701); IN-IS (NW1); Johann Johannsson (Deutsche Grammophon); David Holmes (Late Night Tales, again); Nick Cave & Warren Ellis` “Hell Or High Water” score (Milan), Murcof X Vanessa Wagner (InFine); 2030 (Tape Tales); Steve Hauschildt (Kranky); The Orb (attempting a KLF)(Kompakt); Biosphere (Smalltown Supersound), and Dmitry Evgrafov (130701), and in that order (a track-list accompanies the mix).
