Second Summer Of Love
Frieze
Gucci
Check out a couple of previews from a forthcoming, four part film series 'Second Summer of Love' - a collaboration between Gucci and Frieze. From these short clips both look to be exciting and classy stuff.
First up the ever excellent Jeremy Deller explores the social history of the UK between the years of 1985 and 1993 via the build up to, explosion and decline of acid house. Anyone familiar with his work will be pretty excited about this. Plus the D-Shake soundtrack seemed to invoke some kind of dormant ecstasy flashback for a "mate of mine".
We can also have a peek of 'Distant Planet: The Six Chapters of Simona', a melding of fantasy and reality that stars some of the original artists and architects of the Italo sound. This looks to be a more fanciful companion piece to the recent Italo Disco Legacy documentary.
Both films with be screened exclusively at the Gucci Wooster cinema space, NYC, between July 13th-20th. For more details visit the website.
