Bar Part Time is one of those special places sitting between a number of creative enterprises at any given time. Emerging out of the pandemic in 2021, the vibe is organic & low-intervention, whether in wine or architecture--the lighting and booths keep the space's dive bar roots. It's a place for a glass of Matassa. It's a mix series. It's a party. Now it's a record label.

First up from the label is a killer 4-tracker from Toronto DJ/producer Cal-C (Modern Art) and it's a tour of the kinds of vibes you might encounter on any given night at BPT--wonky downtempo, medi house, and bad wine puns.

Title cut "Bath Bomb" has that glacial techno downtempo thing going, shades of "Aegispolis" but with the mercury moved up a few degrees. "Morning Dew" is a tropical take on the 90s dream house vibe. "Blurry Moon" sexy breaks, piano house, and panpipes coalesce into a groovy cocktail. "Wine 69" ("Nice" - ed.) sits alongside Ashra's "Tropical Heat" in spirit if not in name; Caribbean beats, more panpipes.

Cal C's Bath Bomb is released on June 13th and available at Bandcamp HERE. Bar Part Time will be hosting a release party on 21-June... Get involved via their Insta.
