Kyle Martin and Jonny Nash aka Land of Light scratch the seven-year itch with The World Lies Breathing, the follow-up to their debut release on ESP Institute in 2012.

Written over two years, The World Lies Breathing’s eight songs chart a shared voyage deeper into the soundworlds associated with spacious, abstract composition, minimalism, and found sound. We’re talking about acoustic instruments, contact microphones, Martin’s self-built modular synthesiser, and a healthy dose of French composer Claude Debussy’s thinking around the idea of music being the space between the notes.

While the tracks have an organic, naturalistic quality, but as they begin to thread together as a more significant feature-length composition, things change. The nature they're honing in on reveals itself to be an entirely different form of nature - the nature of an alien world perhaps. Those sapphire flowers? They sure aren't from Earth? And that purple valley? Whatever lies beyond the green fog at the end of it isn't anything we've seen before. Why not let Land of Light be your guide through it? Thirty-five minutes later, chances are you'll want to run the whole thing back.

The World Lies Breathing is out now on Melody As Truth in digital and 12" vinyl formats (order here).
