Mike Lundy / Nothing Like Dat Funky Funky Music / Aloha Got Soul

Test Pressing, Review, Dr Rob, Mike Lundy, Aloha Got Soul, The Rhythm Of Life, Nothing Like Dat Funky Funky Music, Nu`aunu, Honolulu, Hawaii

A second single to be lifted from Mike Lundy`s “The Rhythm Of Life” album by Honolulu-based Aloha Got Soul (I think the full record is on the way). If the previous single was a Nu`uanu Rare Groove, to be set frugging with James Mason, Gary Bartz and Leon Ware (Mr. Ware coincidently made available again by Be With Records, who Aloha Got Soul have just collaborated with on the Nohelani Cypriano reissue), then “Nothing Like Dat Funky Funky Music” is a whole lot more “blue-eyed”. A sound of dusty wonders by Emerson, Lake & Palmer`s mates Thee Image, one-hit Northern Soulers Liberty, England`s Kokomo, the Southern California surf of Honk, and the homegrown sparkle of Greenwood.
