LL / Ombu / Bushes

Test Pressing, Dr Rob, Review, Bushes, Brian Not Brian, LL/DJ, Ombu, Forum Crew, Salon Des Amateurs, Dusseldorf

“Bushes” is a new London-based label, the vinyl offshoot of the party of the same name. A party that has hosted guests such as Diesel, Jonny Rock, DJ Fettburger, Tako, Gatto Fritto, Throwing Shade, 12th Isle, Kenny White, and Brian Not Brian (Brian`s “Going Good” are distributing the 12). Picked up as a WAV played by Jan Schulte when he span at “Bushes”, “Ombu” is the debut release by LL/DJ AKA Kevin Lukacs. Lukacs is a member of the Forum Crew, who like Schulte, are regulars at Düsseldorf’s Salon Des Amateurs. It`s no surprise then that “Ombu” shares a lot sonically with the music produced by Schulte, as Wolf Muller, and also fellow “S.D.A” residents The Durian Brothers. All percussion and raw electronics. The “Disco Mix” coming over as an alien take on the Exotica of Martin Denny. A “Quiet Village” on Mars. The “Break Mix” is more House, more Sotofett, while the “Zoto Mix” takes the track up to a Techno gallop. Machine kick, high-hats scything. Trance-dancing like Tom Blip (without the edits).
