A Band Called Flash
Rush Hour
“The Gift” has The Time dancing in zoot-suited formation to the Minneapolis Funk of Prince`s “Controversy”. A lead guitar Detroit leaning. “Mother Confessor” strips it back, ups the handclaps and sounds more like Jam & Lewis making good their escape with the S.O.S. Band. That guitar now reaching for outerspace. “Nicci” recaptures the innovative, independent Brit-Funk of Andy Sojka`s Atmosfear, while “People`s Palace (Devotion)” & “Sliph” take that template and do it over in the manner of Faze Action and the Idjut Boys, all jazzy keys, an “Another One Bites The Dust” b-line, bongos and delay.
A Band Called Flash is Jared Hines, and the project also has something to do with Ron Trent. The 12 comes in smart artwork by Statz.
