Andras Fox
Superconscious
“T.N.T.F” has Andras don Green Velvet, for a stripped back, pitched up tribute to Cajmere`s Relief. Chicago raw, with hi-hats, and whistles. Tim Harper diggin` it. “Always Pumping” pumps while “Soy Boy” is a squelchy take on `90s Garage, farting bass and synthesised horns a-go-go, its title perhaps a nod to the current Japanese revival, and props to Soichi Terada and his contemporaries. “Gold Coast” is the one though. In its “House Mix” it combines perfectly placed Larry Heard keys with just a 40 microgram hit of Lidell Townsell`s Acid, in its “Surfer`s Paradise” form cascading piano calms a breakbeat brow. “Rich In Paradise”, Mr. Marvin, with Hip House James Brown vocal snippets (“Yo` bad self”?), like an Italian Scream Up`s sunrise reprise.
