On the holy day of Easter Sunday 20th April I will be joining Richard Fearless behind the decks for the inaugural HOLY session where we will be embarking on a 100% vinyl journey into the depths of the dubwise sonic universe utilising the power of the mighty 30Hz Soundsystem in the intimate setting of the Cu basement in Dalston.

Below we’ve both selected a few tunes to give you a taste of what to expect on the night when we hope you’ll be able to join us for some Sunday spiritual transcendence through the power of bass, dry ice and a shed load of dub sirens.

Tickets available here.

Tom Dubwise Selection:

Dialog Featuring Benji - “Child Was I”

Beautiful deep ambient leaning dub techno out of Finland. Perfect for setting the tone early doors.

Rothadam - “I Was Born To Be A Rebel”
Raw heavyweight roots from mid 70’s Toronto with a pleasingly rebellious spirit recorded at Oswald Creary's legendary Half Moon studios.

Kahn – "Dread" (Gorgon Sound Version)
I love the original but I think I actually love this rework from Gorgon Sound even more who add a steppers twist to proceedings.

Bandulu - “New Foundation”
Under the radar deep, driving techno-steppers hybrid from UK techno heroes Bandulu.

Seahorse - “Dirty Melodica"
Absolute banger from Germany’s Seahorse that manages to effortlessly join the dots between steppers, dubstep and grime.

Richard Fearless Selection:

Christine - Saturday Night"

Heart breaking roots ballard, velvety vocals float over a killer rhythm section. An amazing record with a ridiculous dub on the flip. Released on Observer and produced by label owner, Winston ‘Niney’ Holness.

Mark Ernestus Meets BBC Version
Conjuring the magic with the barest of ingredients. I’m always drifting to the barest of music. Pan Sonics and Ø distillation of techno, Ramleh’s singular use of distortion. What Mark Ernestus has achieved with this haunting piece of dub techno is just perfect.

Froid Dub - "Shotgun Dub"
"An Iceberg Cruising the Jamaican Coastline" was how Froid Dub described this record which immediately made me have a listen and subsequently fall in love with. More post punk in its production, pitched down vocals, a killer fuzzed out bass and jarring sparkly Belgium new beat synths, an utterly unique record.

Traces - “Listen"
Monster UK bass beast by South London duo, "Traces" released on Portland Oregon’s sick ZamZam Sounds, a label that serves up dub in all its strains.

Rhythm & Sound - "No Partial"
Unparalled genius from Rhythm & Sound No Partial. Seminal slice of dub techno. No Partial catches Moritz Von Oswald and Mark Ernestus at their chillest, most magnificent and most dread.
