Well the forum is up and running with over 500 people in there in the first five days which is super nice to see. There's tons of amazing music recommends, books to read, podcasts to listen to and a whole lot more so thank to all those enjoying the chat.

There are some really amazing recommends coming out of the forum already so I thought I'd pull out a couple to highlight... First up is this nuts Material live video recommended by @Nearestfaraway that is from the 13th July 1983. It has the full live band and as Bill Laswell says, "Historical concert. The first time ever played Rockit. This was before Herbie's album was out. It might be the first time audience saw turntable and scratch. Also, we brought Keith Haring for live painting. DST was breakdancing as well." It's nuts and was recorded at Casino de Montreux, Vaud, Switzerland as part of the Montreux Jazz Festival.

As an aside you can buy the album on Bill Laswell's Bandcamp here...

Montreux 1983, by Material

The second thing I wanted to highlight are these interviews on Street Soul which were recommended by @JimmySmalls... Also well worth a watch. They are by Set The Trend crew who are doing podcasts / video interviews on the street soul / sound vibe and its history...

It's all just pretty pleasing to watch tbh but seeing people turning other people onto stuff is just the best. Nice.
