The Run Out 21 April 2018 - A Celebration Of Diy Culture

Words by Lj Horstman

Anyone who hit last year's positively balmy sun-soaked edition will know that The Run Out is absolutely the best tonic to the increasingly uninspiring hijacked-by-the-majors Record Store Day gougings going on. Masterminded by some of the crew behind Rye Wax in Peckham as an alternative to RSD, The Run Out 2018 is a free event to celebrate DIY culture on Saturday 21 April in Copeland Park, London SE15 and everyone's welcome. Check the poster below for details, DJs and live acts include Beatrice Dillon, Tyree Cooper, Siren and Coby Sey, plus talks, film screenings from Hyperdub, Vinyl Factory and more. If that wasn't enough there will be an independent label market and some very, very special limited vinyl dubplates with exclusive tracks courtesy of Banoffee Pies, Astral Industries, Minimal Violence, Strut and more, cut by local mastering engineers Peckham Cuts. The day event runs from noon on Saturday till 22:00, with an afters going till 04:00 the next day. FREE entry all day. Funktion 1 Sound. Cheap beer. Hot food. Cool records. Cancel Sunday lunch plans now.

Saturday 21 April. Unit 9i, 133 Copeland Rd, London SE15 3SN. Genuinely independent music, celebrated on its own terms.
