Ok I am kind of just reviewing the A side of this record which is 'Love Not' by Jamie 3:26 and Danou P as it's a properly good thing. You know those records that don't do a lot but they do the perfect amount. This is one of those. I got given it yesterday when popping by the distributors to say hello (big up all the Prime massive).
Simple bass and drums kick off the track before an arp'd baseline arrives and then some pads and a keys riff that is dubbed out and it just has the confidence to grow and grow... Strings arrive and hold in place before going off and getting more melodic and take it on and on into, well I don't want to say the word bliss, but you get the intention. I bet this record played at the right time and right place to people that were er susceptible would sound just perfect. It's a groove...
Ok over to the B side... B1 is 'Earl Montana' by Jamie 3:26 and Danou P again. Salsoul-esque drums and nice keys and an all round good vibe. B2 is Jamie 3:26 and Mr Scruff with 'Scrubb It' where they try and break the machine by bending the arpeggio sequence right out into the edges of the groove and add wicked little 80s stabs and blips and blobs around the drums and groove. It's fun...
So in short, buy it for the A side as its killer, flip to B2 for some wonk and then dance round your kitchen to B1. This one is out now on Jame 3:26 records. Check the clips HERE.
